Business Development Team Manager (MPS / ICT)

Role Overview
This is a key leadership role responsible for building and managing a high-performing Business Development / Inside Sales team focused on new business acquisition across Managed Print Services (MPS) and broader ICT solutions.
You will play a central role in shaping the organisation’s pipeline generation strategy, driving structured outbound activity, and creating a scalable engine for new customer acquisition.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, lead, and develop a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) / Inside Sales Executives
- Define clear KPIs, activity metrics, and performance standards
- Coach and mentor team members to consistently exceed targets
- Create a culture of accountability, energy, and continuous improvement
- Support hiring and onboarding as the team scales
Pipeline Generation & Growth Strategy
- Design and execute a structured outbound strategy targeting new business across Irish SME, mid-market, and public sector organisations
- Drive multi-channel prospecting (calls, email, social selling, events, referrals)
- Public-sector procurement documentation and framework-aligned submissions
- Develop scalable playbooks for lead generation and qualification
- Work closely with marketing to align campaigns, messaging, and demand generation initiatives
MPS & ICT Market Focus
- Lead pipeline development across Managed Print Services and document solutions, including:
- Print fleet optimisation and cost reduction strategies
- Managed print contracts and device lifecycle management
- Document workflow and digitisation solutions
- Hybrid working print environments
- Identify and drive cross-sell opportunities across the wider ICT portfolio, including:
- Managed services and IT support
- Cloud and infrastructure solutions
- Cybersecurity and data protection
- Position the organisation’s end-to-end capability and service-led approach as a key differentiator
Sales Collaboration & Conversion
- Work closely with field sales and account management teams to ensure effective handover of qualified opportunities
- Maintain strong alignment between business development activity and revenue targets
- Support team involvement in early-stage client engagements where appropriate
- Continuously improve conversion rates and pipeline quality
Performance Management & Reporting
- Track pipeline creation, conversion metrics, and revenue contribution
- Ensure accurate CRM usage and reporting discipline
- Provide regular insights and forecasts to senior leadership
- Use data to refine strategy and improve team effectiveness
Candidate Profile
Experience
- Proven experience in a Business Development / Inside Sales leadership role within ICT, MPS, or technology services
- Strong track record of building and scaling pipeline generation functions
- Experience in Managed Print Services, document solutions, or workplace technology highly advantageous
- Demonstrated success in outbound sales and new business acquisition
