Test Analyst

Location: Dublin – Hybrid (2 days onsite / 3 days remote)
Division: Digital / Technology Services
Contract: 11 months of full-time work (fixed-term, no extension)
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day between 8:30 and 17:30
Start Date: Q3/Q4 2026

About the Role
Are you an experienced Test Analyst with a strong background in enterprise software testing, automated testing, and complex web applications? This role offers an opportunity to work as part of a large-scale technology programme, supporting the delivery and enhancement of enterprise-level applications.

You will play a key role in ensuring software changes meet business and technical requirements through comprehensive functional, integration, system, UAT, regression, and automated testing. You will work closely with development and project teams to identify defects, manage test outcomes, and support high-quality software releases.

Role Overview
The purpose of this role is to plan, coordinate, and execute testing activities across complex software solutions. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in both manual and automated testing, with particular expertise in .NET-based full-stack web applications, Playwright, Azure DevOps, test data management, and SQL.

You will operate within an Agile environment and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure quality, identify risks, and support continuous improvement of testing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute functional, integration, system, UAT, regression, and release validation testing.
  • Develop, manage, and execute automated and manual test cases and test scenarios.
  • Coordinate testing activities across medium and large-scale projects.
  • Identify, log, track, and manage defects and test outcomes using Azure DevOps.
  • Work closely with development teams to support the investigation and timely resolution of defects.
  • Validate system changes against business requirements and expected outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests using Playwright.
  • Support test planning, execution, reporting, and release readiness activities.
  • Manage and prepare test data to support testing requirements.
  • Contribute to test documentation, standards, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Use SQL to run common queries and update data where required to support testing activities.
  • Identify and communicate testing risks, defects, dependencies, and quality concerns to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with development and project teams within an Agile delivery environment.
  • Support the successful delivery of software changes and releases through effective quality assurance and testing practices.

Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5 years' professional experience in software testing.
  • Proven experience testing enterprise-level software solutions.
  • Experience working across medium and large-scale software projects.
  • Experience with both legacy and modern technologies.
  • Demonstrable experience testing complex, custom-built full-stack web applications using .NET.
  • Strong experience with manual and automated software testing.
  • Proven experience in test data management.
  • Practical experience writing automated tests using Playwright.
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure DevOps for test creation, management, execution, defect tracking, and collaboration.
  • Experience working with development teams in Agile environments.
  • Good working knowledge of SQL, including running common queries and updating data.
  • Experience testing security aspects of public-facing websites.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain defects, risks, and quality concerns clearly to a range of stakeholders.

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in software testing.
  • Proven experience testing enterprise-level software solutions.
  • Experience testing complex .NET full-stack web applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright automated testing.
  • Strong experience using Azure DevOps for manual and automated testing and defect management.
  • Experience with test data management.
  • SQL knowledge and practical experience working with test data.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Availability to commence from the required service commencement date, estimated for Q3/Q4 2026.

Desirable

  • ISTQB or equivalent software testing certification/qualification.
  • 5+ years' professional experience in software testing or a related specialised field.
  • Experience taking a senior or lead role across complex testing projects or programmes.
  • Experience coordinating the work of other testing or technical specialists.
  • Strong understanding of software testing best practices and quality assurance principles.
  • Experience contributing to test process improvement and testing standards.
