Systems Analyst (Intermediate) - Hybrid

Location: Primarily based at one of the core offices in Ballina, Co. Mayo; Loughrea, Co. Galway; or Dublin, or another suitable location agreed with the successful candidate. Hybrid working may be available, with some onsite attendance required.

The Technology, Platforms and Solutions function works across business and technical teams to understand operational needs, improve systems and processes, and deliver effective technology solutions.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions. The successful candidate will analyse business processes and existing systems, gather and document requirements, and support the delivery of effective IT solutions.
Mandatory Requirements
- Intermediate-level Systems Analyst experience.
- Minimum NFQ Level 8 qualification, with computing/computational modules completed in the final year.
- Available to commence 26 October 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.
- Full driving licence required.
- Strong experience gathering and analysing user requirements and translating them into clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Experience producing project artefacts such as Data Dictionaries, API Guides and Release Notes.
- Experience documenting Systems Analyst procedures and best practices.
- Experience supporting Solution/Technical Architects in defining and documenting technical architecture.
- Experience reviewing third-party technical artefacts and providing appropriate feedback.
- Experience supporting Development and QA teams during development and testing.
- Knowledge of relational databases, including MySQL, MariaDB or MS SQL.
- Knowledge of JSON and XML.
- Strong communication skills across both technical and non-technical environments.
- Ability to research and quickly learn new technologies, tools and techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and document business and technical requirements.
- Translate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria and functional specifications.
- Develop project artefacts, including documentation, diagrams, models and data-related documentation.
- Analyse existing systems and business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support Solution and Technical Architects with technical architecture documentation.
- Review third-party deliverables and provide appropriate technical feedback.
- Support Development and QA teams throughout solution delivery and testing.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure delivered solutions meet defined business requirements.
- Contribute to project planning, resource planning, budgeting and implementation.
- Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation and ensure effective communication between business and technical stakeholders.
Desirable: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good understanding of technology layers from infrastructure and databases through to applications, and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
