Information Security Officer - Arklow, CO. Wicklow (6 months)


The Role in Brief:
The Information Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring the protection of the organization's information assets and maintaining the overall security posture. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring security policies and procedures, managing security technologies, and responding to incidents. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a similar role, ideally in a multinational, PLC, or multi-site environment, and possess a strong understanding of the information and cyber security landscape.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:
- Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
- Manage and respond to security incidents and breaches, conducting investigations and reporting findings.
- Oversee the implementation of security controls to protect information assets, ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, GDPR, SOX).
- Collaborate with IT and business units to ensure security controls are integrated into the infrastructure and applications.
- Provide guidance and support for risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Maintain and update the organization's risk register, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and managed effectively.
- Lead security awareness training programs for employees to promote a culture of security.
- Manage access control systems, including Active Directory, Azure AD, and related products.
- Oversee the security of Business Central, Azure, Active Directory, Office 365 Suite, and Power BI.
- Stay current with emerging security trends, threats, and technologies, and make recommendations for improvements.

This Role Will Suit You If:
- Significant experience in a similar technical role, ideally in a multinational, PLC, or multi-site environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or information technology or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Strong understanding of the information and cyber security landscape, including threat and incident management, and risk and control management.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CISA, CEH.
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience with information management frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, GDPR, SOX).
- Significant experience with IT audits and compliance.
- Expertise in ICT infrastructure and applications of access control management, including Active Directory and Azure AD.
- Experience with Business Central, Azure, Active Directory, Office 365 Suite, and Power BI.
